Women Empowering Women: Female Fashion Designers Leading the Way

The 8th of March isn’t just any other date on our calendar, it marks the significance and achievements of women in all social, economic, and cultural realms. Throughout history, pioneering female fashion designers have captivated the world of apparel, crafting designs that have reshaped the way that women dress today.

Their design concepts have only continued to evolve over the years and spread across continents. These unstoppable female fashion designers have the remarkable ability to set trends from one day to the next while delivering both quality and confidence for their wearers.

At Browzwear, we admire the iconic women designers whose extraordinary talent and statement-making designs inspire our users’ imagination and ultimately impact how garments are created.

Let’s take a look at a couple of the female designers who have sparked our creativity when creating garments in 3D CAD:

“I wanted to be an empowered woman, and I became an empowered woman. And now I want to empower every woman. And I do it through my clothes, I do it through my words, I do it through my money, I do it through everything,” says Dianne Von Furstenberg , a Belgian fashion designer, famously known for her wrap dress, whose vision for changing the way women live has continued in her commitment to community and women’s rights across the globe.

“A girl should be two things: who and what she wants,” says Coco Chanel, French fashion designer and businesswoman, known for her timeless and infamous innovations from the woman’s suit and quilted purse to costume jewelry and the greatly successful women’s fragrance, Chanel No. 5.

“Remember, twenty percent of women have inferiority complexes. Seventy percent have illusions… Ninety percent are afraid of being conspicuous and of what people will say. So, they buy a grey suit. They should dare to be different.” says Elsa Schiaparelli , an Italian fashion designer known for her surrealist aesthetic that is all about playfulness, color, and eccentricity.

Donatella Versace

“Women should be sure of themselves because women have a lot of capacities. We can achieve so many different things,” says Donatella Versace , an Italian fashion designer, businesswoman, and socialite who transformed Versace into a luxury lifestyle brand by managing the growth of the group’s luxury clothing lines alongside the expansion into accessories, home furnishings, and hotels.

On this International Women’s Day, let’s celebrate the importance of all the women in our lives and keep inspiring each other to become the best versions of ourselves and strive in whatever we choose to do. The sky is the limit!
