We are thrilled to congratulate Browzwear's Chairwoman, Sharon Lim, on her recent appointment as President of the Singapore Fashion Council (SFC). Formerly known as the Textile and Fashion Federation (Singapore), SFC is the official association for the textile and fashion industry in Singapore.

Sharon shared her inspiration: "The mission of SFC is to create a vibrant Asian hub for responsible fashion. 'Responsible' encompasses equity, sustainability, transparency, and more. With a focus on technology & innovation, sustainability, and Asian craftsmanship, we will partner with stakeholders across the fashion value chain. This aligns with my personal mission and the vision of Browzwear to partner towards a more sustainable fashion industry. I feel like I’m continuing the mission I started with Browzwear 21 years ago."

Her top priorities include developing partnerships that represent the responsible fashion ecosystem. Sharon says, "This includes innovative technology partners, policymakers, organizations, and educational partners that shape talent development, tech solutions, and regulations around responsible fashion. I hope meaningful partnerships with key stakeholders—manufacturers, retailers, technology companies, NGOs, government, banks, and investors—will bring about initiatives with a positive impact on the region."

One such initiative is SFC’s collaboration with Temasek Foundation’s Amplifier Program, providing startups with access to capital, opportunities, and skills. Sharon is mentoring US-based Circ, a climate tech company developing solutions for recycling polycotton fabrics, a finalist in Earthshot 2023. Another exciting partnership is with Fashion AI Hub, guiding members to harness AI for their organizations.

Sharon is also excited about the "Be the Change Summit" on August 15th, themed "Eternally Circular: Articulating with Asian Voices." This summit aims to catalyze conversations and spark actions for a sustainable future through panels, keynote speeches, and interactive sessions. Additionally, on October 4th, SFC will host a Gala featuring Asian designers showcasing collections that emphasize circularity in design, production, and consumption.
