Tutorial: Designing a Flat Cap in VStitcher

Subscribe

In this video tutorial, you’ll be guided step-by-step through creating a classic flat cap with a stylish twist in our 3D apparel design software, VStitcher. We’ll begin by importing a DXF file, arranging the pattern pieces on the avatar head’s cluster, and stitching them together to form the base. From there, get ready to add some finishing touches – replace the default fabric with a new material, create a smooth lining, add topstitching for extra flair, and even assign 3D trims.

With the help of powerful tools such as the gizmo, styling tool, and context view, you’ll be able to achieve a realistic and professional look for your flat cap. And when you’re finished, save a snapshot, add a new artwork, and create new colorways to take your design to the next level.

If you’d like to get a head start on the creative process, please download the flat cap DXF files from the tutorial to begin!
