When getting your closet winter-ready, certain staples can’t be missed. To help you get started, we’ve put together some tips and tricks to show you how to create your winter must-haves in true-to-life 3D.

Tip #1: Fabulous in Fur

There is nothing like a fur coat or a cozy winter sweater to keep you warm in the winter. Applying different fur effects to your garment in 3D clothing design software, VStitcher is a quick and easy task. When configuring the fur effect, there are many to choose from, such as wool, shearling, fleece, and more.  By editing the fur properties visible in the V-Ray render, you can then preview your work instantly.

Tip #2: Perfecting the Puffer Jacket

Puffer jackets are an integral part of any winter wardrobe. Not only are they comfortable and stylish to wear, but they are also designed to insulate warmth.

To design the perfect puffer jacket, paying attention to each detail that goes into the construction is essential. By leveraging the fabric physics to adjust the firmness and thickness of the fabric, you can replicate puffy insulated fabrics to create true-to-life insulated 3D garments. The puffy physics automatically creates a second layer of the insulated fabric; however, you can add an extra layer of lining and intricate details to the garment, such as inner pockets.

Tip #3: Simplifying with Smart Zippers

Applying zippers to a garment may seem like a complex task, but it can be simplified using the S mart Z ipper tool in VStitcher. The zipper can be applied manually or automatically. When manually working with the smart-zipper tool, you can apply zippers to even the most complex of garments, without being limited to simple construc tions such as jackets. When applying the zipper using the automatic function. Z ippers can be added rapidly as a single smart object with default parts.

Tip #4: Playing with PBR

PBR ( Physically-Based Rendering ) is taking 3D to the next level by delivering a realistic ray-trace output. This integration helps to creat e a more realistic view of specific materials such as velvet, glitter and so many more.

Tip #5: Customize with Substance by Adob e

Your creativity as a designer can blossom with the Substance by Adobe integration. Designers can customize their prints in real-time, apply effects to any logo by selecting a S ubstance filter, and create your unique print using Substance Designer.
