Best PLM Software for Fashion in 2025: How to Choose and Implement
A fashion PLM integrates with 3D design software to help brands innovate, cut costs, and optimize design and production workflows.

This March, Browzwear teamed up with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) for a fashion design competition that blended creativity, team collaboration, and digital technology. The goal of the competition was to give final-year students a real taste of the fashion industry's workflows.
A total of 36 students joined the challenge, forming 12 teams. After months of hard work, 6 teams made it to the finals. Each presented a full outfit, complete with a virtual twin, to show how their designs could come to life both on screen and in the real world.
The competition was supported by Browzwear’s Shanley Phua, Sanggy Tran, and Hai Yen, along with a dedicated group of HCMUTE educators, including Ed.D. Nguyễn Tuấn Anh, Ed.D. Nguyen Xuan Tra, Ms. Le Thi Thuy Trang, Ms. Phung Thi Bich Dung, Ms. Le Quang Lam Thuy, and Ms. Do Thi My Linh.
The competition kicked off back in September 2024. Students from the Fashion Design and Garment Technology departments teamed up in groups of three and submitted their applications.
By October, it was time to bring ideas to life. Each team developed a concept, complete with moodboards, a clear design direction, color palette, and one digitally rendered outfit. In November, submissions were evaluated for creativity, technical skills, and alignment with the competition theme.
Six teams became finalists in December. From January through March, they had three months to turn their digital designs into real garments. Each group produced one full look, with up to three pieces, and presented both the physical version and the 3D version side by side.
Students had to combine creative storytelling with technical skills. Their entries started with mood boards and concept narratives, then moved on to choosing colors and materials that supported their vision.
Technically, they needed to create patterns, fit simulations, and digital renders that matched real-world standards. From a design perspective, they had to incorporate originality, purpose, and sustainability, whether through material choices, construction techniques, or unique details.
Each team focused on creating a single complete outfit. It had to be polished, cohesive, and ready to walk off the screen and into production.
They started with some technical sketches, developed 3D renders and physical twins.
The winning team behind the artwork "The Streets" (Giải Quán Quân) was awarded a coveted internship opportunity at Otto International Vietnam. Congratulations to the talented students:
